A kerbside collection of materials for recycling household waste is provided to households across the Edinburgh City Council area. This section lists the various kerbside collection schemes, the materials collected and the frequency of collection for each of the schemes across Edinburgh City.

| Frequency: Fortnightly | Materials accepted in Blue Box: Aerosols, Aluminium Cans, Glass Bottles & Jars, Steel Cans.
Please do not put Aluminium Foil in your Blue Box. | Frequency: Fortnightly | Materials accepted in Brown Bin: Garden Waste.
Please do not put Food Waste - Fruit & Vegetable Peelings, Plastic Bags, Soil or Turf in your Brown Bin.
The container is collected fortnightly until the end of November 2009, when it will change to a four-weekly collection during December, January and February 2010. The service will revert back to a fortnightly collection in March 2010.
