Sort It is a national tool, developed as part of the Waste Aware Scotland* campaign, that provides information on the various alternatives available to householders to minimise the amount of waste that is sent to landfill. Sort It aims to provide you with useful insights and practical advice on how you can reduce, reuse and recycle your household waste in Scotland. Sort It lists a wide range of local and national outlets, facilities and services to help you do this. You can search for facilities in your area by selecting your local authority from the Area Map. Alternatively, you use the Postcode Search to find a specific category of products or services in your postcode area. Sort It provides details of a wide range of outlets across Scotland that offer goods and services to help you to reduce, reuse and recycle your household waste. For example, in the Reduce section you can search for low waste gift experiences, hire and repair shops, and services to reduce unwanted mail. In the Reuse section you will find outlets where you can buy a range of reusable, rechargeable and refillable products. Under Recycle you can search a full list of your local facilities, including bulky uplift services, Recycling Centres & Points, and Kerbside Collections. You can also find out about any Home Composting initiatives that are running in your area. In addition to the detailed listings within each local authority, you can also find local and national statistics on the number of reduce and reuse services, recycling centres and points, and kerbside recycling services that are currently listed on Sort It.
